Project Overview
Our lemonade stand project is a hands-on way for students to gain essential business and life skills.
We’re seeking equipment that will help students experience the realities of running a small business. This project will allow them to learn the math behind running costs, setting prices, and managing profits. Students will also develop key skills like customer service, communication, and cleanliness—especially valuable when things get busy and high-stress.
How the Items Will Help
The equipment we’re requesting will set up students to operate a stand at local events, providing real-world experiences in a safe learning environment. With the right supplies, students will have the chance to calculate the cost of goods, set competitive prices, and explore the financial side of entrepreneurship. In addition, working directly with customers will help them improve communication and service skills, learn to stay calm under pressure, and practice hygiene and self-care while serving.
Project Goals
My goal is for students to apply the entrepreneurial skills they’re learning by running a successful, profitable lemonade stand. I hope they’ll come away with not only a deeper understanding of business basics but also greater confidence in their ability to problem-solve and interact with others in a professional setting.
Why These Students Are Special
The students participating in this project thrive with hands-on learning. Traditional classroom experiences don’t always capture their attention the way a real-world project like this can. By diving into a practical, interactive challenge, they’re more likely to absorb the concepts, giving them a solid foundation they can carry forward in life and future careers.
