This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I want to provide my students with engaging learning experiences.
Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.
My Project
My students need a variety of items to help keep our busy kindergarten classroom free of germs.
My students need Kleenex tissues to keep their noses clean during the high cold, allergy and flu seasons.
They need Germ-x hand sanitizer to keep their hands free of germs after cleaning their noses and before eating snacks in our classroom. We also need Sparkle paper towels and Clorox disinfecting wipes to wipe off our tables after daily use.
These items will help promote a clean and safe environment for all students. This clean environment will help students from getting sick and will boost classroom attendance. Thank you!
