My Project

Morning Meeting, Closing Circle, Story Time, Show and Tell, Class Discussion and so much more happens when my Kindergarten class gathers on the carpet. Our class carpet is the center of our learning and the rug we have now and old and falling apart. I would love to have a new colorful rug to replace the old one.

Having a carpet with individual squares for students to sit in will help them learn about personal space and respecting boundaries while they listen to a story or participate in class discussions.

Kindergarten students have a hard time sitting in chairs all day, so I like to allow them to move around the classroom and work in different areas. As well as being the perfect place for whole group learning, the classroom rug is a great place to take a writing journal or a Chromebook and stretch out to complete daily independent work.

A new classroom rug would enhance our classroom and be enjoyed by many students now and in the future.
