This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 4-year-olds who come to school ready to start building the foundations of their learning. I have a morning and afternoon session which means I teach 40 students with different interests and abilities. They are eager to explore and learn in many different ways even though many of them don't speak English.

The students make every minute count and they are becoming life long learners on the road to reaching their dreams.

Their school day is only 3 hours so they need to get the most of every learning experience I can offer them.

My Project

Phonemic awareness and letter knowledge are some of the most important building blocks for young children on their journey of learning how to read.

Square Panda Classroom Edition is a unique system that provides games to help my students learn these important skills.

Through the use of the iPads and Square Panda, the students will be able to play games that teach them letters, letter sounds and phonemic awareness skills such as rhyming.

Play is a child's work. This project will help provide ways for the child to learn wrapped up in fun. They will play the games on the iPad and use the tactile letters to become readers without even realizing they are doing their work.
