Help me give my students the counseling safe space they deserve by putting items like the Wall Mounted Suggestion Box in place for confidential notes to the Counselor, along with other functional pieces.
A typical day in Guidance is never typical! I am up, down, around and all over the place trying to reach each student on their level. My greatest desire is to help my students achieve their goals and teach them how to be successful citizens of the world.
I work in a Title I elementary setting with a high percentage of students coming from military connected families.
I serve and support the social/emotional needs of approximately 450 students in grades Kindergarten through 5. Many of my students come from difficult backgrounds and recent life transitions. My goal is to make each student feel safe and cared for so they can succeed during the school day.
My Project
I have moved to a new office space for the 2019-2020 school year! This is an exciting change and will make me more accessible to my kiddos. In planning about how to best utilize the space I created a wish list of office items.
The Wall Mounted Suggestion Box will be transformed into a confidential counselor note drop box.
With this addition students will be able to leave me notes about their concerns, topics to discuss, and when they would like to see me.
The command hooks and shelves will give me more usable space on my walls and allow me to showcase popular items such as What If Everybody Said That?
I am excited to make this new space the best it can be for my kids! With a little help and some elbow grease it will be the safe space so many of my students seek. Thank you for the consideration.
