Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Outside of our classroom is a garden bed that was full of weeds and fallen leaves. The students in my classroom decided they wanted to take charge of it and began cleaning it out. Now what we have is an empty garden bed in need of some tender loving care.
During our living systems curriculum, the students learned the importance of food chains and plant life.
With materials such as potting soil and fencing, we will begin to put our learning into practice and help the students with a hands-on experience right outside of their classroom. Already students around the school are noticing the clean garden bed and with your help, we can make this a beautiful site and learning station for our entire school.
