Sprucing Up Our Recess Equipment

My Students

My students are K.I.D.S. They are knowledgeable, inquisitive, determined, and successful. The school they attend serves a low-income area. For many students, school is sometimes the most consistent part of their day. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been very consistent. I have great pride in my students. My school is located in a rural area. Recently our district has consolidated schools. We have students from four communities combining to create new grade bands and schools.

We are the hidden gems of the school district.

The students in my class are thirsty for knowledge. They come to school ready to learn. This year the first nine weeks will be distant learning. This won't stop them from wanting to learn. In fact, it has fueled them. They have big goals, ideas, and hearts.

My Project

Recess equipment is meant to be played with and playing with things cause wear and tear. While most of our equipment is good to go, we need some updating and replacement items.

Playing during recess helps develop social-emotional skills and kids get exercise through play.

We need a few more basketballs to keep kids active on the court. The toss and catch balls and holla hoops would be new additions to our equipment that encourages kids to be active. Updating our recess equipment will keep the fun going.
