My Project

One of the most exciting moments for students walking into school on the first day is seeing their classroom all spruced up and organized. The furniture is neatly arranged and the materials are organized. Everything is clean and cheerful. The room smells of fresh crayons and the wax on the floor tiles shines.

Many of my students will come to my special education classroom on most days during the 6 years they are in elementary school, but I want their first day to feel fresh and exciting while still feeling familiar.

I am asking for your support in providing 3 items that will improve the organization and accessibility of my classroom. First of all is the collapsible step stool (which can safely support up to 300 pounds so it will hold up to regular student use) will ensure that everyone can comfortably access the drinking fountain and the sink independently. The magnetic bookshelf will give a visible space for displaying new or featured class library book titles where everyone can see them. Lastly, the 2-section cubby will give a place to put jackets, sweatshirts, and wet umbrellas that usually wind up tossed on the ground.

I know that these items will help make my classroom a more inviting space. Thank you for supporting my students in having a spruced up classroom for September!
