Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is ranked as a high poverty school with 99% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Most of our kids come from single-parent or severely dysfunctional homes. Keeping students excited about staying active is very challenging given their difficult home lives. Moreover, it is more difficult due to the lack of equipment for our students on our campus.
We offer sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball, softball.
The problem is that we never have the equipment. Kids normally have to share them or go without the use of proper equipment.
My Project
We are starting a track team and would like to be able to track and record the progress of our track team electronically. With these timing clocks and lasers we will know precisely how fast our track team is and how to get the faster. In the sport of track and field times must be accurate in order to facilitate training. With these equipment will we have accurate times. With accurate timing we will know were our teams needs the help.
