This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My TK students live in the low-income, mid-city district of Los Angeles. My students come to school every day and we have the highest attendance for a Title I/low-income school with a population of about 700 plus students. My Transitional Kindergarteners are a rambunctious, beautiful bunch of kids with so much life, love and learning to be had. They deserve everything the world has to offer and more! I am so proud of them, every step of the way! They are happy learners with smiles and excitement all day!

My Project

My TK students have been very strong, happy and determined to learn this year. They have been learning from home for 123 days and have done an extraordinary job! Words will never be able to never fully describe this experience.

Many of them have never been to school before so all of these seasonal shifts and changes can only be felt through real life experiences.

These materials will help them learn as I teach them about rabbits in the Spring and the pinwheels will help them learn as I teach them about weather changes that come along in the Springtime. Making Rabbit headdresses and pinwheels will make learning more meaningful as I teach them the beautiful traditions of these school aged customs such as celebrating Spring, new life and seasons as a whole.
