My classroom is part of a preschool program that serves high-risk students and those with disabilities or delays. My current classroom is made up of students from ages 3 to 5 years old. These children are from very diverse homes and have very diverse social, emotional and academic needs.
The majority of my kiddos have never before been away from home for long periods of time, much less in a school setting.
A safe and welcoming environment that encourages developmentally appropriate learning is what I strive to create for my students.
My Project
A new season means new needs. We are still trying to overcome colds and flu in my classroom, which means a LOT of tissues are being used. We are in need of a re-stock of those as well as some other basic supplies like construction paper for our easel.
All students have unique interests and trying to satisfy all of these is challenging, especially when your class ranges in age.
I have a large number of students younger than I am used to. For this reason, I am in need of toys that are appropriate for younger students such as the Fisher-Price Little People toys and train magnet puzzle. This will help them remain engaged in playtime in the classroom. All of my students enjoy our sensory table and the water beads, scoopers, and ocean animals will be a wonderful addition to our sensory table materials!
