We are a fully public elementary school with an extremely unique population of children as we serve students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia. This means that many students who come to our school are struggling to read or cannot read at all. We service these children by offering a different type of education, a multi-sensory, whole body approach, and intensive reading interventions. This is our third year in operation! The success of the first year brings tears to our parents' and teachers' eyes!

My Project
These materials will be used to bring students and their families together for hands-on, interactive learning.
Students, along with their siblings, parents, and even grandparents, will come to the school to complete a series of stations geared toward STEAM education and career awareness.
Some of the activities will include (1) *Art Bots* in which students utilize motors, batteries, markers, cups, hot glue, and battery holders to create robots that can draw, (2) "Bird Feeders" using sunflower butter, bird seeds, and recycled materials and (3) "Landing Devices" using cotton balls, flexible straws, cardstock, and tape and (4) much much more.
The event will consist of a total of 14 stations in which students and their families can pick and choose which activities they would like. The ultimate goal of this event is to increase student interest in science, technology, engineering, and math as well as continue to grow our school's community and culture.
