This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In these post-pandemic times, teachers and students face challenges unlike before. For lower-income students such as mine who were already behind the starting line, the challenges are even greater to keep up with during this current recession. Costs on everything, including school supplies and food, are up. This year, and even before the pandemic, the majority of my students were unable to bring or purchase bare essentials for school.
Whether virtual or in-person, my students need school supplies for school and home.
In today's Houston, we could shut down due to the next COVID variant, monkeypox, or weather related happening.
This project provides replacement classroom headphones needed to get us through the rest of the year, as well as homework/tutoring folders for home. The project also include earbuds they will need for their learning software and audio books to do at home. These are supplies that will be shared with all three of their teachers' classroom.
