My Students

We are a 4th - 6th grade school. The teachers at my school are focused on getting the students to where they need to be in each subject area. In my classroom, we work in small groups using manipulatives and various forms of technology. Through this, the students are able to explore and investigate to find answers on their own.

My students also love collaborating on various activities in order to figure out the answer to a problem.

In classrooms today, students have to be able to justify why they chose an answer. By working together, students are able to learn from each other and find out answers to problems by exploring and learning.

My students range in ability levels, so by working in small groups, they are able to find their strength and use it to teach another student that might not understand a skill we are learning. Teamwork and collaboration are very important throughout my classroom on a daily basis.

My Project

Spring semester is always a difficult time for students. State test review is in full swing. Students need some fun ways to keep them motivated and interested in their classwork. Through TeachersPayTeachers, I can purchase review activities that keep my students engaged in the learning process. The past few years have been and continue to be difficult on the students as well as the teachers. Trying to add a little fun into the curriculum is important in order to keep the students engaged and interested in the learning process of the science classroom.
