My Project

When I first started teaching six years ago, I adopted many books from retiring teachers and spent many weekends at Goodwill. I was fortunate enough to have many books to start my classroom library. Over the years, I've realized that my students were not very interested in them. They are outdated and we are in need of an upgrade (a lot of the books are older than myself). I just found out next year I will be teaching reading again, so this project is super important.

I am starting this campaign to reward my scholars with new, fresh books for our classroom library!

They gave me some suggestions on what they would like, as well as what they think my students next year would like, so this list is created by them, for them! I think it is important that students have many opportunities to experience books because books can take them to places they have never been before. I also want them to feel represented more in my library. With more of a selection of books, I can hopefully spark more of their interest in reading.
