Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This January, we began our second semester of this school year. Interestingly, this year has been more challenging than the first two years of the COVID pandemic. The first two years we were very concerned about the outbreaks of germs but now we have a different type of issue. We teachers have found a direct correlation between the isolation of the pandemic and weakened literacy skills. Because many adults were busy with extra jobs or caring for infirmed family members, the children in those homes were not practicing reading.

Please help me provide new and colorful books and decorations to promote reading books and the use of the library.

I plan to use the decorations and games to welcome children into the library and make our library space more colorful and engaging. All of the library books can be checked out for use at school and at home, as well.
