My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching over 450 students from diverse backgrounds in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade! Also, we have a wonderful group of students in special education called the Aspire group. The Aspire group contains students in kindergarten through fifth grades who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our school does an amazing job at seamlessly integrating the Aspire students into all subject and encore areas of learning. One of their favorite subjects is Physical Education and I am thrilled to teach them all the new and exciting skills, fitness challenges, and games each week!
My Project
The addition of the Lacrosse sticks to the physical education program at South Elementary will give the students another opportunity and exposure to sports at an early age. Lacrosse is a booming middle and high school sport in our area, yet the elementary schools do not have the equipment to teach the sport. I would like to bridge that gap and introduce the students to Lacrosse in the hopes that many choose to pursue this sport for exercise and enjoyment! By practicing the sport at an early age, the students will have a greater understanding when they enter middle school physical education and athletic programs.
