Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of materials to help end our school year in a fun and engaging way. This includes many basic supplies such as pencils, clipboards, expo markers, and crayons to refresh the supplies we currently have in our classroom. This also includes fun toys to celebrate the end of the year! Our first grade team "shares" students, so although I will have these materials in just my classroom, all of our 100 first grade students will benefit from this project!
By April and May, our class has built a strong community and we are all eager to celebrate the learning we have done.
This is why I have requested many different supplies for projects and outside play as well. We will use materials such as watercolors to complete the endless spring projects such as Mother's Day gifts and creativity "free time." We will use puzzles and the marble track in the classroom to engage students' spatial abilities while doing it in a fun way! As the weather gets nicer in Colorado, we will also spend a lot of time outside. When playing outside, we will play with the "Koosh" balls and paddles and the "sacks" for races.
As an educator, I have the special opportunity to create lasting sweet memories for students to remember for a lifetime. The goal of this project is to continue creating magical memories for my young learners to hold on to forever. This is why I have requested Instax photo film to document it all! Many of our students have never seen a camera that uses film, so the idea that we get to see our pictures right away is so novel and exciting.
