Most of my students rely on school meals for breakfast and lunch. When they are on breaks away from school they often have little food and are sometimes cooking for themselves. I want to help relieve some stress when they are on Spring Break by giving them a bag of ready to eat meals.
Food insecurity impacts students mental health, safety and ability to learn.
Providing even a few meals for my students during their break will be help them feel cared for and less anxiety about not being at school.
