Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students come to the library to read stories and be in a safe, educational environment. Many of our students struggle in school and are reluctant to read. My student aides are starting a community service project to get more students interested in reading. We want all children in the community to see the benefits of reading for pleasure. We plan to invite students from the local elementary school and families to visit our library. We are getting the library ready by decorating it with bright, colorful, literacy-rich projects created by our own students.

I am requesting Harry Potter, Mickey Mouse, and other story-inspired LEGO sets and a LEGO design books to inspire students to create.

I know that building these sets and displaying the completed sets around the library will get the community interested in their stories, which will prompt them to read more!
