Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a special place because it is one of the most diverse schools in our district. Our school mission revolves around accepting diversity! We have used sports to connect our students and have committed to being a healthy campus. In the past year, we have been challenged as a school and community, due to our districts budget catastrophe. Located in West Houston, we have been able to create a proactive P.E. program despite lack of equipment. Rebuilding from the ground up, we have been able to get "back on our feet", but need equipment greatly to continue to intrigue our student's involvement.

Developing the thrive to succeed, and to targeting the roots of knowledge that were either wrongly informed or haven't been taught is the goal for these low income children.

Providing the right resources and learning materials are paramount to the success of new experiences. Through these times teachers can only show hope until leadership gets better. We need the community's help to give these children the opportunity to experience life time knowledge that truly saves lives!

My Project

PowerMyLearning Family Engagement program will fit perfectly for completing the development of a daily regime that focuses on building character, but also develops healthy habits. These two key attributes to success, character and healthy habits, fully create the person we want kids to develop into later. The chance for parents to interact with the schoolwork their children are working on in class is a tremendous benefit to the family and to the student. PowerMyLearning Family Engagement will allow the communication with the parents that we are always seeking as teachers. The benefits to this program will reach past the students which makes this program and project fun!
