My Students

Many people consider a library a safe haven or a second home. They have fond memories of library visits and story time when they were children; perusing the shelves looking for the latest young adult novel as teens, or they may still frequent their public library.

We have avid readers at our school.

Our students devour books, often coming back the very next day (or a few hours later, for one student) to find the next book in the series. Reading for them is an adventure. They visit other worlds, live other lives, and learn new ideas.

My Project

Librarians do not have a supply list at the beginning of the school year like regular classroom teachers, yet they see hundreds of students all day, everyday.

Not only is the library a hub of learning, but it is also a hub of germs.

I'm requesting materials such as hand sanitizer, kleenex, disinfectant spray, screen cleaner, etc. to help clean and maintain the library and its computer stations.

Disinfecting the library will help keep germs at bay throughout the school year, especially during cold and flu season. With less exposure to germs, students will have fewer days missed due to illness. High attendance will give students a better chance at academic success.
