Spreading Kindness Through Crafts!

My Project

I am an occupational therapist and I work with my students on many skills, including improving their fine motor skills, visual-motor skills, visual perceptual skills, and sensory processing skills. These skills are the building blocks for being a successful learner.

Children learn best through play, and so I try to make our therapy sessions fun and exciting by engaging in various hands-on activities.

However, we need the supplies to be able to do this. I am requesting arts and crafts activities for the holidays throughout the year so that my students can meet their goals in fun and exciting ways. By donating these arts and crafts, you will enable me to be able to perform various fun and hands-on activities with my students during our occupational therapy sessions. Many of my students come from low-income homes and don't have these opportunities at home. The arts and crafts that I have chosen will allow my students to be able to learn and improve various skills, in a fun and exciting way!

These craft activities will also teach my students about kindness. Since these are all holiday-themed activities, I will encourage my students to do acts of kindness with the crafts they create. They can give the completed crafts to family, friends, and those less fortunate to spread holiday cheer. My students will be able to work on improving their skills, and do acts of kindness with these crafts that I requested!
