This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a third grade teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district. I have a class of wonderful third graders that consists of English language learners, special education students, and general education students who come from various ethnic backgrounds. Despite the many challenges my students face, my students come to school eager to learn and strive to do better. They ask questions and are not afraid to take risks or make mistakes.
My students are creative and active third graders who are passionate about their work and projects.
I want to give my amazing students the skills and tools to be their very best selves.
My Project
With the necessary germ fighting supplies, students and teachers in my classroom will feel more comfortable and safe. We will be able to work with less anxiety and know that we are doing everything we can to keep each other healthy and safe. We need these supplies, as our district does not supply the necessary cleaning supplies. With the extreme need now and the extra supplies we will go through this year, we cannot rely on the district, state, or parents to buy our supplies. Teachers often buy their own supplies, but it will be too much this year with everything needed.
