Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are so hungry for knowledge! They come from low-income homes, and many come from homes where English is not spoken. The students come to school each day needing not just an education, but also essentials. They need meals, medical attention, and in some cases clothing.
These challenges make them want to learn so much!
They want to come to a school and have learning resources that will help them achieve! Budget cuts have severely limited funding to schools. We do not have the necessary resources to educate students in the ways they need.
My Project
My students are in Pre-k. In many cases they have never been outside of their homes for group activities with kids their own age. They can struggle with identifying and controlling their emotions.
A Little Spot of Feelings books and Spot toys will help my students understand all of their emotions on their level.
They will be able to hear the story and interact with the Spot toys. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will help me find additional resources and activities to supplement the books and strengthen the lessons.
