We are an alternative high school based on philosophies that teach our students the values and skills necessary to succeed in a diverse and ever-changing global society. We strive to create an atmosphere of high expectations and joyful learning where students are encouraged to work together, take academic risks, think critically, and pursue successful careers and higher education. We strive to convey and instill in our students the knowledge and experiences they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
We serve students in grades 9-12 who have had difficulty succeeding in a traditional high school setting.
We offer a safe, supportive atmosphere with personalized instruction.

Our students need to know that good sportsmanship provides guidelines that can be generalized to the classroom and lifelong achievement - our students need to know that learning to be a team player is important not only for students who may prefer to be the center of attention but also for those who prefer to be left alone to themselves.
Our society is competitive - basketball will teach our students to function in competition and that good athletes stay in the game, playing their best even when losing, knowing they will win some/lose some. Our students must practice and learn that winning and losing are both temporary and that they can't give up or quit - education, life accomplishments, creative contributions in the arts, sciences, business, and government involve similar perseverance and self-discipline - basketball is life, Sports Matter!
Our school needs a Spaulding Basketball System, Court Stencil, and boy’s & girl’s basketballs to make our Basketball Club a reality for our students. Currently, to play basketball, we must leave our building and walk to a neighboring court to play there (if it isn't already in use,) or go to our local YMCA and use their court (if it isn't already in use.)
Having access to our own equipment in our school will significantly improve our Basketball Club by making sure we have can use the equipment on our own time. Becoming a member of our Basketball Club is a privilege for those who attend school and achieve passing grades, for many students, it is a highly coveted privilege.
