Sports Stories Aren't Just For Boys Anymore

My students need 13 Jake Maddox Sports Stories for boys and girls, including "Skateboard Save" and "Soccer Shootout".

I am a librarian in an inner city K-6 Elementary School. Even though our school has its share of challenges, our school is very successful and consistently gets the highest ELA scores in the state. This is because our children love to read.

The problem I have as an elementary school librarian is providing a sufficient number of books for my students. My budget of $1,000 a year, only allows for a handful of new books each school year. One area where we are really lacking is sports books. The Jake Maddox series is one of the most popular series in the library. These fictional sports books provide a winning combination of fast action and intense personal drama, all in a very readable package. My third through fifth graders especially love this series.

I would love to order more sports books in this series. One thing I especially love about Jake Maddox is that there are just as many sports books for girls as there are for boys. My girls love books about ballet, gymnastics, field hockey... They get so excited to see a sports book with a girl on the cover!

With your help, I can put in an order for Jake Maddox books that will be enjoyed by all my students. New books are so popular for my kids and new sports books are especially wonderful. Not only will these books be used in the library this year, but they will also be used for years to come. Thank you so much for considering this proposal.
