Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school will prepare 100% of our scholars for high school in hopes of them all graduating high school and moving forward to college and career readiness.

Our mission is to increase high school graduation rates by providing a supportive and flexible learning environment that challenges every learner to find their voice and to exercise choice as they design their own pathways to success.

Our school implements a different teaching/learning model based on the processes that lead to growth. Our students belong to underserved communities in West Philadelphia.

My Project

We have almost no sports equipment for our students to use to keep active before school, after school and at recess. Just simple things like basketballs would get so many kids up and active. They can play games instead of being inactive. They can also use the soccer balls to play indoor soccer on rainy days. They normally play dodge ball but their resources are old and cannot last much longer. New dodge balls would be appreciated.

It is important for my students to learn to play games together and learn about good sportsmanship on and off the court.

These simple supplies will help out so many kids.
