Our center is a five star Step Up to Quality center. Our Head Start program provides early educational experiences for children at or below the poverty level.
The children may come from low-income backgrounds, but they are rich in the love of their families.
Our center goes above and beyond to build a strong bond between the child and their families. We not only teach the child, but we also empower the families and, in doing so, we see growth, not only in the child but in the family as well. Our children are learning how to better our future.
My Project
The students will be able to design their own baseball shirt to wear while they play sports. The soccer balls with help the students develop their gross motor skills of running and kick the ball. The parents can use the whistle to get their attention if they ran to far or give them other directions to maneuver through obstacle courses. The parents will be able to set up obstacle courses using the chalk to write where to start, direction to go, and stop. The hoola hoops can be used as jump ropes for the students or obstacles to jump through.
It's been a long winter being stuck in the house with no where to go, lets get the students outside to explore and free their energy.
The visors will help keep the sun out of their faces on sunny days that will soon be approaching. The students will be eager to dig in the dirt to discover creatures and life underground and will be able to do so with the gardening tools and gloves. On the windy days they need a kite of course that they get to put their own design on to fly high in the sky for all to see. Bubbles will help the students with taking deep breaths and breathing in the much needed fresh air. All this talk about the fun outdoor activities has me excited for the Spring to arrive. Help me give the students the supplies to start their outdoor learning fun.
