Help me give my students an organized classroom with a whiteboard for mathematics education, flexible seating options, and reward items for a classroom store.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredibly resilient and inspiring. They come from the poorest congressional district in the country and face challenges that many of us can't even imagine. Despite all of this, they come to school every day with a smile on their faces and a hunger for knowledge. They are smart, loving, and full of energy, and I feel so lucky to be their teacher.
One of the most important things I can do for my students is to provide them with the highest quality math instruction possible.
Math is a gateway subject, and it's essential for my students to have a strong foundation in order to succeed in STEM careers. It is incredibly important to stay organized in the classroom and have a system to motivate students.
That's why I'm also raising funds for essential organizational items including a classroom store with rewards. Many of my students come from families that are struggling with food insecurity, so receiving tangible rewards for their hard work can be incredibly motivating. As they earn more rewards, they will begin to develop intrinsic motivation, which will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.
