My Project
What kid doesn't love to play in water!?! In my experience, not many. Oftentimes in California, August through October can be our hottest months of the year. My students can really benefit from incorporating water play into our classes as fun activities that also promote aspects of teamwork and community-building. My students work hard and deserve to participate in some non-traditional activities, and if I can figure out ways to keep them active while smiling, then I am one happy educator!
The resources we are requesting in this project will provide fun and exciting ways to stay cool and build community on hot days.
One reason that I have avoided water balloon play in the past is that they are a headache to clean up afterward. We always have a lot of fun, until it is over and we are scouring the play area for pieces of balloons to throw away and keep our field and custodians happy. These new reusable water balloons are great for the environment and cleanup. Win-win!
