Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The closure of the schools due to the pandemic took everyone by surprise. I never thought I would never see my students for the remainder of the school year. Being that our schools are now closed my students and parents still keep close contact. At the time I am uploading videos on classdojo (a platform that helps me keep in touch with my parents and students) and I zoom in on Wednesdays.

My students come from a low-income community and find it difficult to obtain materials such as print-outs, crayons, paints, etc.

Despite the hardships they are currently facing with the schools closure, my students continue to show enthusiasm towards learning. They are always happy to see one another on our zoom meetings.

My Project

My students and I love color! I mean what would a world be without color, right? Therefore, having a color printer in our classroom but at my home for now will help create meaningful learning opportunities for my students. Due to the school closure I find myself having to create visuals for my students that will help them have a meaningful learning during the school closures. The majority of my students if not all of them are visual learners and having colorful visuals will help enhance their learning.

Having a color printer will help me create material from home depending on the study on the week.

By having a color printer will help create various visuals for our sing-along zoom meetings. My students enjoy singing "Five Green and Speckled Frogs" and having a color printer will give me the opportunity to print all the visuals for the song and put them to use for our next zoom meeting. Please help me give my students a colorful world filled with new visuals to use for our distant learning.
