Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income high-needs urban community, which I have loved serving for the past 15 years. We are a Title I school, where 100% of our students receive free lunch. This is a community that has endured the worst that poverty and violence have to offer but continues to overcome every challenge by rebuilding and transforming their neighborhood. This resilience and enthusiasm are reflected in our children.

My students come from diverse backgrounds, and all arrive in my classroom eager to learn, to succeed, and to feel safe and loved.

My goal as their teacher is to make sure these needs are met every day. I want to provide them with every opportunity afforded to others. I hope you will join me!

My Project

Many of the bins containing our classroom books and materials have seen better days. They are splintered and unsafe, or flimsy and less than useful. I would love to replace our old containers with new sturdy bins that are kid-safe and classroom-friendly.

We love our hands-on interactive classroom, and we need bins that can stand up to the daily wear and tear we put them through.

Our library would benefit tremendously, especially since many of our books are currently being left out due to lack of storage. These bins would also contain our literacy and math learning stations, as well as our puzzles and games. Thank you for helping us refresh our classroom organization!
