This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello!

For this project, I want to new books and bookmark-making kits for a community service project here at our school.

We're organizing a student-led Literacy Night for students and parents in our community, spearheaded by the fifth-grade Kindness Club. Our older students will engage with younger peers, including incoming kindergarteners, igniting their enthusiasm for joining our school community.

This event doubles as a community service initiative, emphasizing student leadership in promoting literacy. Participants will craft their own bookmarks, fostering creativity while encouraging reading habits. With the books in this project, we aim to address the accessibility gap to books outside of school and cultivate a shared passion for reading within our community.
