This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a P.E. Coach sponsoring an afterschool Team Sport for running club in a low income/ high poverty neighborhood in San Antonio Texas in a Title I district. This is our 2nd year sponsoring the club and the students are extremely excited!

The runners stay after school once a week and enjoy running their miles at the high school track across the street.

Our students are a collective group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students, who have become excited about staying active. The club works on running drills using various equipment.

My Project

This project will be used to sponsor the End of the Year Splash Day. The students will be able to engaged in several different water balloon activities. These activities will be a wonderful tools to reinforce social skills among each other. Last year was our first time organizing this event and it was so much fun for the kids and staff. I am happy to report we encountered no student injuries because all hands were on deck.

The specials team worked hard to raise money to rent and purchase items for this event.

We want to make sure the students have an amazing end of the year celebration.

Therefore, we are ready to take on this responsibility in creating an amazing reward for our students.

We hope to make this event better with the help of DonorsChoose.
