My Project

My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in an urban neighborhood. They attend an alternative educational program designed for students in elementary and middle school who struggle in a regular school setting for various reasons.

My students deserve to feel proud, believed in, and that school is a safe and happy place where their teachers care for them.

They struggle with a range of learning disabilities and emotional disorders, and some lack a stable home life, but even with the external stressors that surround them on a daily basis, they remain hardworking, talented, and driven.

My students deserve to feel confident and comfortable. Living in a low socioeconomic area, many of my students’ families are unable to afford celebrations and extravagant gifts. These matching pajamas are meant to reward students and let them know that they are cared for! The requested supplies will increase attendance and directly address the issue of learning gaps created by frequent absences, students will feel special celebrating the holidays and spirit week together as a school family.

Positive moments in the classroom go a long way in motivating our students beyond the classroom. These items are only material, but they represent a larger need in making students feel valued.
