Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I used to be in color guard in high school, so I know how much of an impact it can make on a student. It is easier to come to school because you have something to look forward to. It is easier to feel more confident in yourself when you find something your are good at. It makes school more fun and when things are fun, we find ourselves more willing to try harder.
Please help me give my students the same opportunity I had in high school, where they can have a place they feel like they they belong.
So they can come to school excited to get through the day and practice their spinning.
In color guard we use electrical tape to fix equipment and prep it so when it inevitably gets dropped, it has extra reinforcement to not break. The color guard rifles and tape I am requesting are not only for the longevity of the materials, but also equipment that the students can spin. The goal is to be able to provide the same equipment opportunities to everyone who wants to join color guard.
