My Students

My students love to investigate and explore! They are college-bound, want to know what the world can offer, and love to discover new solutions to everyday problems. Their excitement sparks large flames as they discover new ideas and share them with others they interact with.

Imagine working with an eager, excited, enthusiastic group of students who are on the edge of their seats waiting for more.

These are my students. They want to learn, they want to understand, and most importantly they want resources to get there.

My Project

Students get the most satisfaction from learning in a science classroom when they do hands-on activities. Comprehending the Universe can be challenging for students because the content is on such a large, unreachable scale. To better engage students I want to approach teaching through a hands-on, applicable, and edible format.

Grasp the loose pieces of the Universe and swirl them together into a star!

A cotton candy maker will help students watch spinning particles come together into a dense core of material, exactly how stars and planets form! Better yet, as students watch this happen they can eat the final result. Having a cotton candy maker will allow students to recreate the nebular theory in a hands-on engaging lesson.
