My Project

The Reading & Relaxation Cafe Project from earlier this year was such a hit that my English Learners are begging for an expansion. And your donation can make that happen!

Adding four more bean bag chairs, some foam-mat flooring and bean bag filler will let half the students enjoy better seating during our Silent Sustained Reading, which is more popular than ever now that students can get out of their rigid desks and relax with snacks and a book!

(Never fear, the other half will get that preferred seating the next time!)

We have good momentum in this ESL/ELD classroom, thanks in no small part to enhancements like these from DonorsChoose. Indeed, our school reclassified the highest percentage of high school English Learners in the entire district last year, meaning students reached a proficiency level in reading, writing, listening and speaking deemed high enough for them to exit the ESL/ELD program and take an elective class instead.
