My Students

I teach digital literacy at an elementary and middle school in Northeast Philadelphia. My students enjoy working with computers to explore the world around them and are eager to engage with the technology.

The students at my school thrive on learning through hands on experiences.

My students possess a natural curiosity to learn more about their world and environment. They want to go beyond the text book and the worksheets. Using this type of learning, my students have future careers in coding, robotics, video, apps, and engineering.

My Project

LEARNING IS EVOLVING. GET ON THE BALL.

Equipped with Bluetooth SMART and a scratch-resistant, durable shell, SPRK+ takes hands-on learning up a notch.

Programmable sensors like motor encoders, LED lights, accelerometer, and a gyroscope allow for countless experiences and coding conditions. SPRK+ will foster a love of robotics, coding, and STEAM principles… all through play.

With these robotic spheres, students start with the design phase, as they code to create a digital map. They then move through the testing phase, and investigate what changes are needed and what is proving to be successful. Finally, students use higher order thinking skills to tackle advanced programming and problem solving. Collaborating with peers, students use these Sphero SPRK+ robots to promote learning, thinking, and creating in a fun environment.
