Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Students who attend my school are super interested in becoming future engineers. I teach LEGO engineering and design as well as coding and programming to kindergarten through 5th grade. In my LEGO Lab, students are training their brains for the engineering and design process through meeting LEGO challenge after LEGO challenge and succeeding!

Engineering and design with LEGO and coding also fosters in my students a CAN DO attitude.

We learn, we engineer, we test, and we improve. It's a constant process that makes my students better able to tackle problems in the real world.

My Project

The Sphero bots requested in this project will allow my students the ability to program, code and play in a very creative and beneficial way. Seeing cause and effect come to life within programming is an unforgettable lesson for students. Planning, programming and executing commands for these bots will be a higher knowledge level activity that students actually beg to do!

I can't wait to see the students' faces light up with excitement as they figure out how to make the bots follow commands.

This learning experience will grow their brains, increase their ability to think through cyclical processes, and make them more linear thinkers.
