I teach in a small, tight-knit community where most of our student population falls below the poverty line. Our school receives 100% free breakfast and lunch. We are also a very diverse school district with many students who move here from all around the world. The diversity in our school provides many opportunities for us to grow and understand differences amongst ourselves.
My students are hard-working and always ready to learn new things.
This project is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn in a fun and interesting way. Our school district is doing all virtual instruction. I would like to maximize my students' engagement with online learning by providing them with access to two really fun and educational websites, Spelling City and Brain Pop. These kids are such hard workers and they deserve something fun that will also be educational.
My Project
Spelling City will provide my students with engaging and meaningful learning experiences while they are learning virtually. Spelling City is a great program to help them further their vocabulary and spelling skills, while they are learning on the virtual platform. By providing my students with access to fun and engaging websites like Spelling City, I can keep them interested in their spelling lessons and attending meetings where we can use the websites to play games together. Another benefit of this website in our weekly lessons is that it includes tracking of student progress and immediate feedback for me and my students!
