Speedy Secure Art Display System

My students need bulletin board strips and deer mesh to create a showing system that will be easier to change out.

My Students

My students are awesome! They love to create art! We have been creating many art projects in many medias.

My students are an energetic and enthusiastic group of elementary students from a city in Massachusetts called Lowell.

Lowell is an inner city school district and faces many challenges such as funding art education. At home, most of the students have no exposure to art making materials and techniques.

I would like to continue introducing new media and materials each year to the existing curriculum. However, with a limited budget, it is difficult to order additional materials. The students in the school that I work in deserve quality art materials!

My Project

These materials will make it easier for me to put artwork up and then take artwork down. The hooks and gaffer's tape will secure deer mesh at the top of the wall. The bulletin board strips will be screwed three fourths of the way down the wall as an anchor for the deer mesh. Clothes pins will secure artwork to the deer mesh. I have staples to attach art to the bulletin board strips to anchor the deer mesh. I saw this display technique on Cassie Stephen's blog spot and it looks amazing.

Displayed art work brightens everyone's day: the artist, kids, teachers, staff, and parents.

Hanging art is a time consuming process. Something in the tape or the building heat changed this year. I put art up and it starts falling on the floor within 24 hours. Right now, the walls are blank. If I had a better system, I would be able to get more art up more often.
