Speech Therapy, not Peach Therapy- Don't forget your 'S'!
Help me give my students speech therapy materials to enhance their ability to communicate with others. These exciting Alphabet Tubs, counting cars and amazing communication games will inspire my students to achieve their individualized therapy goals.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The human ability to talk. Many of us take speaking and listening for granted. All of my special education students have a communication disorder which impacts their ability to interact with others.
Imagine not being able to tell an adult you are sick, scared, or hungry.
Imagine not being able to share a secret with a friend. These are challenges my students face due to various communication impairments, such as stuttering, poor articulation, and expressive and receptive language deficits.
As a speech language pathologist in an inner city school, I work with students who truly want to succeed, despite the many challenges they face.
My Project
My students need updated and refreshing new speech therapy materials to help them achieve their individualized goals. Therapy can become boring at times, but the colorful Alphabet Tubs, magnetic sequencing strips, therapy games, and art supplies will have them communicating more effectively in no time.
Engagement in speech therapy can be quite challenging at times, especially when therapy materials are outdated and worn from years of use.
The requested supplies will help my students become energized and excited to improve their speech and language skills. These skills will help them not only in elementary school, but in the future as they interview for jobs, internships, and college.
