This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I read a book with my students working on expanding language in order to carryover their skills into the classroom. I plan on using the books throughout the year to target language, speech, and collaboration. The students get so excited when seeing books with characters that look like them. The majority of my students are Black and/or Latino. These books are not only fun but culturally appropriate for my caseload. Many of my students are autistic and love reading books with color and pictures. These books help keep my students engaged while also strengthening their skills in speech and language.
