Speech Superheroes Need Organizing and Publishing Tools
My students need literacy manipulatives, binding and laminating tools for publishing their work, and bins for accessing speech therapy materials.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. N.'s classroom raised $641
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students look forward to using bins, display strips, literacy materials, and binding/laminating tools to organize, create, and beautifully display their written work. Students will share their work with their classmates in binded books and on displays using memo notes for comments.
Your kind donation will help children in the wonderfully diverse borough of Queens, NY.
Our school is a Title I school for children in grade k-5. My students have speech and language impairments, Autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and other special needs to access information and convey their ideas through multisensory speech therapy sessions. My students and I work on strategies to help them be the best oral and written communicators possible. I consider my speech students my Speech Superheros because they "lift" each other up by motivating one another to reach their speech and language goals.
My Project
My wonderful, hard working students will be able to come to speech class and easily access their speech notebooks, and manipulatives for the session. While they have great pride in their work, it would be wonderful to create binded and organized collections of their work to share with classmates and teachers. Time for Kids and the story apron will be resources that children can use to inspire their writing and oral retelling of stories. When working on writing, our students will be able to publish their final writing pieces with binding and laminating so that they can share it with their classmates and families. Students with speech impairments will be able to create communication books with visual icons to help them communicate with their peers and teachers. Students working on their narrative skills will be able to create their own stories with illustrations and then proudly bind their work for sharing.
Your generous donations would help make the speech room organized and filled with many materials to stimulate literacy and language learning skills for children with diverse learning needs.
You will play a part in helping these children become better oral and written communicators in the school community!
