it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have recently been meeting my new students as most of them are incoming 6th graders coming from different elementary schools. I am also servicing some 7th graders that I had last year. My students reside in low-income households in the South Bronx. They are predominantly Latino and Black . They come from a background of different cultures, varying from South America, Africa, and the Carribeans.
All of my students have special needs and accommodations that have not been met due to the lack of resources and not enough materials for technology to be distributed when adjusting to remote learning.
My Project
By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase my students' attention and participation during our speech tele-therapy sessions, you will ultimately help to increase their overall academic achievement.
They will be able to use the headsets and the computer mouses to easily maneuver their Chromebook laptops given from the school and comfortably adjust to remote learning.
My students are often in loud spaces surrounded by siblings or having trouble switching between website tabs during lessons and activities and using these technology devices will allow for them to have effective tele-therapy sessions . Not only will they use the headsets and the mouses for speech, but also in their other classes with other teachers who are teaching through live stream.
