This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are an incredible group of children who love to learn when learning is fun! The materials in this unit include activities that will all be used during therapy sessions to help them facilitate their language in a fun way. These activities not only promote language skills but also serve as a form of positive reinforcement—after focusing and completing their tasks, the children get to enjoy playing with the toys.
Language is learned through play.
For instance, when playing with the Critter Clinic set, they can engage in imaginative play, using words related to animals and the doctor’s office, such as “sick,” “help,” and “open.”
Students produce language when they are motivated to communicate, and these materials will keep them engaged in language-learning tasks! In addition, the students will love to come to speech, knowing that it is full of fun opportunities to communicate.
