This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Helping a student remediate their speech and increase their language abilities needs to be fun in order for them to learn and what to learn. I am relatively new to Westwood and work with Speech and Language students in grades 3-5. My speech room did not come with any resources for these students. 93% of our district's population qualify for free and reduced lunch. Over 30% of our students are English Language Learners. The books and games I have chosen can be used in a variety of ways. I will use them to enrich their vocabulary skills, speech sounds skills, grammar skills, and social language skills all while having fun. When students enjoy what they're learning, they learn it better. Thank you so much for this opportunity to help our students grow.
