This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve STEM students in a highly diverse school. The students come from many different backgrounds and many of my students speak a second language. Our students come from supportive families who want the best for their kids but often do not have the resources they need to assist them.

These students are imaginative, inventive problem solvers who are excited to learn about STEM concepts in the classroom!

Giving them opportunities to think critically and collaborate is essential for their success!

My Project

My STEM students will be able to enrich their learning by integrating math, science, engineering and other subjects using Sphero programmable robots! With a wide array of highly engaging lessons, including space exploration and delving into ancient civilizations, students will apply what they know about block coding to program the Spheros Bolt robots.

They will be utilizing math and engineering skills to design and build mazes and paths, while using math and problem solving to program the robots to navigate, taking into account speed, distance and angles.

They will be programming LED screens to show images related to the lessons as well!
